The other most accepted reason is metabolism, which mainly is talking about the metabolism of the brain. Human brain is one of the largest energy consuming organs of human body. During the rapid eye movement stage, one the sleeping stages, the human brain actually uses a lot of energy. Or, in other words, the metabolism of the brain is high.
 
If you want to lose weight, sleep is a must other than doing excises and keeping a healthy diet. Do not think sleep is easy, many people actually have sleep problems. To have a good habit for sleep, you need to develop a regular pattern like fix a time for you to get up and go to bed and stick to such schedule. Besides, different sleeping time is required for different people. Some people may find they 5 hours are enough for them while others find that they need 9 hours.

In addition, to develop good sleeping habit, you also need to set up a good internal and external environment for your human body. What I mean is to relax yourself and get ready your mood for sleeping. You may find it difficult to fall asleep if you get too excited just before you go to sleep, which finally affects your sleeping pattern. So, you may not wish to watch certain type of movie or play certain type of game before you go to bed, instead, you may wish to lay down, thinking of a peaceful day spending on the grassland. Other than keeping your inside peaceful, you need to keep the outside peaceful, by that I mean you need to have a dark and silent environment which gives you least disturbance. Also, temperature is also important as many people will be woken up by the too high or too low temperature environment.

Sleep more is not just a way to lose weight, it brings you good health also buy allowing times for body cells to grow and regenerate. Start from tonight, sleep more, lose weight and become healthier.
